Dev Patel Shoots Down Freida Pinto Engagement Rumors
Dev Patel may be sweethearts with one of the most beautiful women in the world, but he and “Slumdog Millionaire” co-star Freida Pinto aren’t ready to walk down the aisle just yet.
When asked about the rumored wedding plans on Tuesday morning while promoting his upcoming film, “The Last Airbender,” Dev told Access Hollywood that the reports aren’t true.
“No, no,” he laughed. “I was like, ‘What?’ The wedding plans?’”
Dev went on to tell Access that the couple isn’t ready to tie the knot.
“I’m 20,” he noted. Freida is 25.
They are, however, very much together.
“Yeah, hopefully. Last time I checked we were,” he laughed. “It’s been four hours now [since I last spoke to her], so I don’t know what could happen.”
Dev added that he’s still not used to questions about his relationship.
“It’s a bit tricky,” he said. “I don’t know what to tell everyone because it’s my private thing. But it’s part and parcel of the industry so you just learn to get over the awkwardness and just play with it.”
… And play with it, Dev did.
“So still together, but not getting married?” Access asked.

Directed by Andy Armstrong (Planet of the Apes), written by Kevin D. Its tagline is: “Betrayal is a contact sport…” Its other cast includes Nina Dobrev (Merry Madagascar), MTV nominated Shannyn Sossamon (A Knight’s Tale), and Leslie Mann (Knocked Up). Filming locations of this “R” rated dark comedy are Tampa and Ybor City, both in Florida (USA).
